Am revisiting the evening posting routine to avoid the creeping renewal of the old habit of sleeping on the sofa til all hours.
I had a very strange experience this evening. I did my weigh in and registered a 2kg loss since last week! And I didn't even think I'd been that good. Must be all the golf - am trying to plan tomorrow so that I can do lots of mooselet duties, keep away from the house til 2pm (including height of pikeyness visit to Lidl), and then sneak off for a round.
Very pleasurable Kaffee und Kuchen this afternoon. Thanks everyone for coming.

Ah Moose, congrats on being less of a person than previously. I knew their was some advantage to virtual Kaffee und Kuchen, for organising which many thanks.
Skedaddled to my pit early last night to get a full nights sleep b4 returning to work this morning (V. busy at the mo, boss away). Only to develop a tickly cough just as I was ready to drop off. Mrs Dissing sent me to get the famous russian cough mixture For Ticklycov. So I decided to stay downstairs whilst I waited for the witches brew to do it's work. Eventually returned to bed some 2.5 hours later.
On the subject of witches brew, does anybody remember either wizards brew of Merlin's brew? It was a hot version of a slush puppy available from all good newsagents (and some bad ones as well probably). Used to warm the cockles, before drinking whisky for the same reason was legal.
Have a good day all, nose to grindstone again.
DD out
PS Banging Head = Headache (Tense nervous headache stop headbanging)
Morning all :o)
DD - how is it possible to have a hot Slush Puppy? Our friend mr Wiki says that
"The base is made from a special syrup that is mixed with water and then frozen. This creates a mixture resulting in little bits of ice in a sweet liquid. The taste is simply that of the flavored syrup."
Thus surely the Hot slush puppy would just become a puppy???
Am Confused
:o) Jo
PS - am another Aunty as of this morning - Sister in law (on Mr Jo's side) popped a week early with a 7lb 5 blue one (James David - forever more to be said as if it was Craig david from Bo Selecta (other highly annoying and unfunny comedy programmes are availabe!))
Well done Moose, both on the weight loss, and the staying awake not on the sofa. I am not pleased to report that the pikeys of Lidl are now currently moving in to our adjacent field. So I guess you at least should be able to park when you get there, Moose...
Kaffee and Kuchen was pleasurable. Very much enjoyable. Think was the Kaffee wot kept me awaken for most of earlier half of night's 'sleep'. I too developed a tikly coff, and just lay there bemoaning the fact that I had not yet replenished Buttercup Syrup supplies - many sympathies DD...
Blimey Jo, you're gonna have to call your w'een sunnink really speshul. Babies is going to be les chapeaux ancienne in your family by the time young Pickersgill is born!
I am putting all my bits together to send off for my course today. In between working of course...

Moose - well done on the weight loss! You're probably thin enough to stand behind a lamp post and not be seen ..... except for your antlers of course!
Jo - blimey, a blue one this time!! Well done to Mr Jo's sister. Christmas is going to be a lot more fun from now on!!
I've got an interview with an agency at 2pm today so won't be around much .... fingers crossed as they supply contract staff to a very large pharmaceutical company down here.
Anyhoo, catch you later.

Morning all.
What a week.
Was great to see K. Not too convinced of any future though, but for now - one day at a time.
Missed my weigh in Tuesday, as (yes, another crisis), my son was hit by a car. He's OK, thankfully, he'd only just stepped into the road and the car clipped his hip, knocking him back onto the pavement.
I was inside the house. I heard the impact and then I heard him scream. I'm sure my heart stopped. He was standing, with the help of a neighbour when I got outside.
I took him to hospital to be checked over. He has a grazed, swollen and bruised hip. Grazed and bruised elbows, grazed back, grazed head and a sprained thumb. The first thing my little man said when we got in the car was that he hoped he could go to school the next day. He was very, very lucky and I thank my lucky stars for that. And, yes, he did go to school yesterday! (To show off his wounds...)
Jo - great news about the blue baby! My goodness, there's a baby boom in the Jo family! My friend told me yesterday that after being told for 20 years that she will never have children, she's pregnant! Amazing - she was actually booked in for a hysterectomy too...
Will dip in later.
S xx.
Morning all
Sammie - Gosh your poor wee boy, what a terrifying time for both of you. So relieved he didn't suffer any serious injuries! I had that horrible feeling in my stomach when I read the bit about you hearing the impact and him screaming! Your having a time of lately, sending you lots of love and {{{hugs}}}}
Moose well done on the weight loss :o)
Jo - Congratulatons to Mr Jo's brother and wife. Lots exciting baby times in the Jo family :o)
Jollygit - Goodluck for your agency interview, hope it brings you what you are looking for :o) xx
EG - Hope you are having a good week!

Good morning, Thursday - ya beauty!
Moose - well done! You must be very pleased, but I am not surprised at your weight loss - you have been really busy this week and not sitting around snacking. As for me ...... same weight and I'm sorry, I just can't face WW at the moment. I know .... I'll pay the price for this, but my heart is just not in it, for now.
Sympathies to DD and Hazel re: coughing. It's horrendous when you can't sleep because of a cough. When this happens to me, I am always despatched to sleep on the sofa (even if it's for three nights running) because I have the cough from hell - one of this whoop, whoop types - sounds like I'll never breath normally again!
Jo - your family have been VERY busy over the last 9 months! Another wee soul to love and buy pressies for!
Also, Jo - have you seen a message to you next door on Tuesday's blog (actually written yesterday) re: your maternity leave rights?
Jollygit - good luck for today - there's something out there for you, promise!
C xx
Sammie - ye gods, you are going through the wars at present. You must be so relieved that your son is o.k. - it's every parent's worst nightmare.
Thinking about you, you know - right now it just seems to be one thing after another. Things will change again and everything will trundle along as before, but when life throws this stuff at us, it's really difficult.
Take care.
C xx
Sammie, honey, what more do you need to worry about! Bless you and bless your poor boy. Best wishes to him to heal soon. I do hope his wounds are suitably impressive! Children have a wonderful curiosity for the macabre...
I nearly got hit in my car by a "stupid 'king t*sser" in a big blue car just last evening. I had both cats in the car too, on way to v-e-t. He was driving on the wrong side of the road, and not looking where he was going. I'd have been squished like a fly if his mate in the passenger seat hadn't pulled the steering wheel - it was that close...and the pussies were worried enough anyway without the car lurching about! Odd though, I hadn't thought of it again til now!
The future is nothing compared to the present eh?
Well done Moose on your weight loss and thank you for the virtual Kaffee und Kuchen yesterday.
Goodness Sammie, I am so pleased your son was not too seriously injured - really sorry you seem to be having such a rough patch at the moment - {{{hugs}}}, 'cos I can.
DD/HL/CS - 3 out of 4 in our house all have the tickly coughs - night 3 of it just passed! That on top of the infected throat I haven't got rid of yet 'cos I have nasty side effects from the anti biotics the doc gave me last week. Last night was spent listening to the boys coughing in unison with me and hubby snoring - a real cacophony!
Jo - Congratulations on becoming an Auntie again! No wonder you feel as though your pregnancy is lasting forever. Your little dot will be here soon enough.
HL - Don't get me started on mad drivers ......... I seem to be in front or behind them every morning on my trip to work. I prefer being behind them as they can't bash me then - this morning a bloke in front of me overtook a van waiting to turn RIGHT, yes RIGHT, straight into the path of oncoming traffic. Think everyone on the road breathed in and he missed a collision by a cats whisker. Made my heart pound though - really scared me......
Jollygit - best of luck for the interview today - will cross fingers for you.

ps. got to meet my Leicester City all time hero last night ....swooon! ahhhhhh!
Lyndyloo,
Were you a gibbering wreck talking to your hero last night, or did you appear quite cool, calm and collected?!
Years ago, I bought a book Noel Edmonds had written (he's not in your league, Moose!) and I went along to a department store where he was book signing. In the queue, I thought, "I must think of something witty to say, oh what will I say?" Then it was my turn and I asked him to write my name .... all the time I'm thinking SAY SOMETHING! So I said "I was supposed to buy pork chops with the money this book cost"!!
Ah, witty indeed!

Lindyloo, I never had Ian Marshall down as a hunk worth swooning over! Maybe a hunk of rock!

Hey chaps
Moose – buy a “trinken yogurt” for me in Lidl (in words of HL GAWJUS)
( the cider is good too) I’m verging on a pikey, I’m sure
Sammie – I’m hoping your son is not too badly shaken; it’s such a throat drying heart pounding experience.
DD/HL – Whisky and Honey always helps..Gin and Honey, Port and honey, baileys and honey, Crème de Menthe frappe and honey…Don’t need an excuse
Sorry, can’t join in on the Russian stuff..my brain is mush
Chrissie – I’m intrigued – what was his reply? Can you remember..Was it anything about a crinkly bottom?
Lyndyloo – what was his reply?!
Jo – Eurovision..my hat is ready, balloon blown up, Babycham Perry on ice for Sat nite
I got an autograph off Sylvester Stallone..Now, He was lush!
Jollygit - goodluck
Amanda, Mary, Gaby, Keith, MfR – hello
10 10 ‘til we do it again
Caroline
Jo and Caroline - how did you manage to get your autographs from adored ones?
Caroline, Mr Edmonds said (as he always does) "Crumbs"!! I was in bits! I'm sorry to say this, but I have always carried a torch for Noel! Mr S has been very understanding and of course Deal or No Deal is a frequent visitor in our home!

Hi
I've been in a really strange mood today. Everyday I remember my dreams but I dont remember any from last night and I didn't wake up in the night which is most unusual! I couldn't get out of bed this morning, in fact I could fall asleep now given the chance, I feel so tired. I'm much better when I haven't had much sleep, Keith I think you were saying the same recently. I've got the windows open to keep me awake and everyone else is complaining it's cold...oh dear maybe I should go for a wee walk around the building! The next couple of hours are going to be long ones.....
Thanks for the hugs Lyndyloo. I haven't been able to get on to your blog pages, will try later at home.
Hi Caroline, nice to see you.
Cancel the walk.....the heavens have just opened....tropical storm here is Glasgow....
Mary xx
Chrissie, it was all totally random. I was at my Aunties for some reason in Hertford with my family. I think there was a local carnival going on at the time...I want to say Benjeo or Hatfield but I can't remember. Anyhoo, after the flower parade there was a funfair and who should be attending but the one and only Andy Crane.
I went to join the queue for his autograph (it was massive - the queue that is) and waited patiently in line. Then a pikey women in stiletto's smoking a fag in leggings and I really want to say a ra-ra skirt but I couldn't be sure, trod on my foot and I started crying, at which point my mum came over and held my hand so I felt better. After about 10 minutes it was my turn and after saying hello I was ushered away with my presigned postcard.
Not very interesting really.
Hope Caroline's story is a bit more interesting!
:o) Jo
Chrissie I loved Rocky ( saw it 5 times in the cinema) saddo!
Anyway, wrote to him via studio in US, I think, and got a signed photograph..still got it, I doubt it's worth anything apart from sentimental value.
Oh, and I got DLT's too..But shouldn't really own up to that!
Tropical downpour in East Scottish Borders too, so no walking for me either.
mwk, have just seen cow, jeep and piece of roof go past window. That storm must be pretty heavy!
They said it 'may thunder' darn 'ere. I could've told them that about two hours ago...have had sharp pointy headache (the ache is sharp and pointy not my head so there) for at least that long.
I once saw someone smoking a fag in a short skirt and sunglasses.
...so i said don't be such a pedant and he said i thought a pedant is what you hang round your neck and i said you'll be lucky sunny jim...
:o) love the story. Remind me not to sit next to you in the pub or on the...I want to say bus...but I can't be sure...
Yep. Bus.
Oooh Caroline - Brother outlaw and his (newly added to) family are having a house built in the Borders (they're rich!) it's a loverly place. :o) Jo
Ha! Topped the pikey scale. No Lidl in Cambridge so I went to Aldi instead. The chap two in front of me produced a jiffy bag full of 1ps to pay for his bottles of wine. The cashier counted them all out and he only had enough to pay for one bottle. She gave him the change which he stupidly put in his pocket rather than back in the jiffy bag. Stupidly because his pocket had a hole in it and the change ended up all over the floor!
Did 18 holes in 2 hours and 10 minutes this morning. Saw 2 other people on the 7th when I was on the 13th and apart from that it was just me and the greenkeepers cutting the grass.
Have just watched a video of myself from 3 years ago when I know that I was 12kg heavier than now (2 stone). I have to say I think I looked OK in the video. Why do I feel fatter now? Is it the advancing years? or a new target that is still a decently long way away?
Off to the gym again now as everyone else is out and busy playing at friends houses or at after school clubs, or ferrying children to one of the above!
Sammie - sorry to hear about your son but glad he's OK. Stories like that make you realise how close things can get so quickly...
Jollygit - if that's the interview you are going for, I just have to say 'Keep your pecker up'....after all, that's what they're famous for innit?
Blimey, you don't have to be rich to live in the Borders..but it helps ( in fact I believe it is a regeneration area, there are absolutely loads of pikeys, all buying their cider with 2 and 1 p's)
Cashing giros in poundshops etc.
I'm making it sound lush aren't I? It is really.
Love
C
And..anonymous have you ever opened the door in your pyjamas?
More of the fact that they were having their house built, rather than where it was (although it's lovely). Adn all this whilst they're living in their 'other' house, which they'll probably keep on in town afterwards!
:o) Jo
Jo - I think your Andy Crane story is great, how wonderful your lovely mum came to your rescue!
Caroline - your autograph of Rocky means something to you, that's what matters. I remember (and I cringe at this) I wrote to Michael Douglas at the time of "Fatal Attraction", and heard nothing!!
MWK - it's horrible feeling the way you do today. Almost like a hangover (but without the fun part). I agree, sometimes too much sleep is even worse than not enough!
Moose, I would have thought that paying for anything in 1p's is not on! Yes, I know they are legal tender and all that, but just how long can the rest of the customers wait while £3.99 (or whatever) in pennies is counted out?!
We're getting through Thursday, slowly but surely!

Dressing Gowns are for old ladies!
Dissing D- My hero and I are now on my blog and I can only say ahhhhh! He did grab my arse at one point and then apologised! I had to explain that he must "never" apologise for doing that and he had the next 3 hours to stop.
HL- Yes that baldy man is indeed Curly of the Wurly variety!
Chrissie- I was doing really well on the cool front until a) the above aforementioned happened and b) Rich told him I referred to him as "Stevie God Walsh" then my cover was blown and I just asked him if he could get me some cheap golf lessons when I'm out in Puerta Benus in June... Which he said he'd be delighted to do... RESULT!
On another front, Tim Stimpson is actually far more my cup of tea, he';s tall, handsome, charming, entertaining, witty, sweet... oh and has a girlfriend (ah well you can't win them all).
Sammie - I was holding my breath reading your blog and am so, so, so relieved that your little lad is OK. Goodness me you are having a tough time at the moment - big hugs to you both {{{{hugs}}}}.
Moose - the interview was indeed for the organisation you're thinking about ..... can I say that there was stiff competition?!!!
The interview went OK but it's another waiting game. Thanks everyone for your good wishes ... I'm sure there's something out there for me somewhere.
Will be heading for London tomorrow for the weekend but I've got a note from me mum. Have a good weekend everyone and be careful out there, please?
