Moose

Well done and congratulation my friend!

Please say hello to the Irish pub in the Frankfurt Old Stadt. It holds many memories for me after a good game of rugby against the Yanks and the ex pats in Frankfurt. It also holds some nights that I can not remember much about at all..... but that’s not for here ;-)

I also had my car locked in a car park in Frankfurt after watching Frankfurt and Dortmund play at football so I had to stay the night, Mrs B never really believed my story I am sure that it was cheaper to drink all night than pay the man to open the car park, I do not know why!

Dearest Mr DD. Do not have them tell you life begins at forty. Nostalgia begins at forty. But even that's not what it used to be...

Happy Birthday!

There was a young fella called Dissing
Who always felt something was missing
When he stood in the west
In his kilt and his vest
Whilst underneath something was hissing

Sorry peeps,

Rum / Hazel, I failed to make the connection!

Having spent most of the morning in meetings, can I be forgiven?

Good luck to the Moose, in Deutschland!

I may be 40 today but Head and heart think I'm still 25 ...... unfortunately the body thinks it's 55! A wise person once said, it ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it! And I'm going out in style!

Please tuck in I don't want to take any of that cake home again! Chrissie, I'll wrap it up for you, you don't have to put it straight in your handbag!

DD - thanks for wrapping up that cake for me: I can't resist cake!

And it's not just cake that might find it's way into my handbag - confession time: in the past I have been a real klepto when it comes to glasses (the ones you drink out of). I would never dream of stealing anything, but buy me a drink and it's served in a nice glass, then I simply must have that glass - I have even offered to pay for them sometimes! The only thing that works for me now is to carry small handbags - this has saved me from myself!

Anyhoo, DD, are you planning a real party to celebrate?

P.S. Keith, great to see you!

Congratulations Dee-Dee
On reaching for-tee

Honestly, it's not as scary as it sounds, being four-oh ...... and whatever 'it' is, you just keep on doing 'it' for as long as you can!

Thanks for the scrummy cake - you are kind! Hope your day gets better and better!

DD how's your head?

I consoled myself about the overindulgence in cake by going to the gym and then for a swim. Now feeling siutably holier than the preverbial...

Morning and a fine Wednesday morning it is!

Surprisingly no hangover considering!

I trust everyone enjoyed the cakes yesterday!

Hump day so lets get going!

What do you mean it's Thursday?

DD out

PS Not thirsty ...... ever again!

Can't believe it's Thursday already - what a quick week! Mind you, the week is always that little bit faster when you find yourself having to take a day off from work, as I had to yesterday. I had the most spectacular fall just coming out of our front gate on the way to work. MrS had told me it was "frosty" outside. I beg to differ. In fact, Torvill & Dean would have had no difficulty in performing an entire routine in our street yesterday! The result? I went flying on black ice, whacked my left leg off the ice and slid halfway down the hill. I would imagine I resembled a walrus that had been shot! Managed to scramble my way back up the hill, fell into the house and promptly burst into tears! Not one of my better days!

Happy to say though, I did get away with just bad brusing. Lots of ibuprofen for the pain, ice packs for the leg, and I'm much better today. I have since spoken to about nine people who all confirmed it was "very icy" yesterday - but not one of them had a fall! What is WRONG with me?!

Hope you are all in better shape than me!

Chrissie- How's the leg today then? It wasn't even that cold here in the miggulunds (which is a fact proven by the fact that Booboo still managed to get very muddy on our morning walk) so I didn't have ice to contend with. I hate falling, it's something I do regularly (being a clumsy foll as I am) I fell down the last stair on Tuesday morning and grazed both my knees! Rob the personal trainer didnt seem convinced but he obviously must think I live a far more exciting life than I actually do!

DD- Well done at not having a hangover, I intend to have one next Wednesday morning after celebrating my friend's (the ex lodger) big 40 birthday.

Moose- Hope you're getting yourself organised. Try to keep the speak in English (my Germin is a lot rusty).

HL- thinking of you

Everyone else- Hi hope you're all doing well.

Ooooh Chrissie,, that sounds painful. Hope your leg is a bit better today. I too have a large bruise on my leg - I walked into the corner of my desk! I swear it must have moved.

Hope everyone else is well too. The sun's out here so everyone at work seems just that little bit happier.

Have a good weekend.

Good evening Bloggers

Chrissie I do hope all of your bruises have healed, from your description I would like to award you a 5.9 for artistic content on your fall! ;-)

I know I have been absent far too often recently but I have been distracted by work and health. The work I can do little about and even now this time on a Sunday night I am still writing staff reports to get them done and dusted.

I am taking the family to Florida on Tuesday for two weeks. The highlight for me is a Harley Davidson I have hired and my planned trip to Daytona Beach, a life long ambition (another thing I want to do before I am 50 crossed off my list) will be achieved.

On the health side the positive side is that I have now lost 9 stone in weight! Yes NINE stone!! So I am feeling good I have been swimming tonight and will be in the gym tomorrow (maybe I will see Lyndyloo there?) I have trained really hard over the last few months. For those that would like to see what I loo like I can be found on Facebook with a photo of me taken at Christmas here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=515204934

Now for the down side is last Monday I had a cancer check up and they have found another problem and have already been given an operation date of 11 March the delay is due to me not wanting to cancel my holiday, what difference can a couple of week make! So the long wait continues again, it is the not knowing that hurts more than the stitches I will get. I do not wish to burden you more to explain my absence over the next couple of weeks.

Keep this place safe for me to return to as I will be back! :-)))

Keep smiling everyone.

P.S Last night my wife and I were sitting in the study and I said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle to keep me alive. That would be no quality of life at all, if that ever happens, just pull the plug."
So she got up, unplugged the computer, and threw out my wine. She's such a bitch.
