Party?

As I'm in the country, anyone fancy a picnic party?

Location: Lundy Island
Time: 4 pm, finishing off with a communal skinny dip in the sea and listening to ARF
Jobs: Hazel - enormous sound system
Caroline - food
Me - eating food
Everyone else - wild fun

Hope to see you all there...

DEFFO!!! Have got friend who organises sound clash at Notting Slight Incline Carnival so consider it already done.

Please will DD and Keith wear kilts again? For sheer comedic value that's gotta be a goer? And Moose, in your speedos, at least until later ahem hem...

And there doesn't appear to be anyone allocated to bring alcohol?

Me? Oh, ok then but I've only got about a teaspoon of absinthe left so we only get a sniff each...and we'll just have to have lemonade with the almond liqueur.

TURN IT UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!!

Lundy here I come!!!

Kiltless, but a pair of tartan plus fours on. With a pair of scissors, I'm sure then can be reconstructed!

I'm the one driving the tanker full of Bacardi! You can't miss me, it's a Breeze-r!

Looking forward to checking out those white bits later .......
Keith!!

Caroline. How about a Barbie on the beach for the food!

Morning! Will try to get there this afternoon, in case I don't make it please enjoy this joke which has made my day today!

A 5 year old girl asked her Mum, "Mum, may I take the dog for a walk down the street and back?"

Mum replies, "No, dear, she's on heat."

The little girl replied,"no she's not sat on anything warm, so can I
take her for a walk"

Mum replies " no it's not that kind of heat, its her season time"

What does that mean?" asked the child.

Mum replies, "Go ask your father. I think he's in the garage."

The little girl goes to the garage and says, "Dad, may I take Belle
for a walk down the street and back? I asked Mum, but she said that Belle was on heat and to come to you to tell me what that meant."

As her dad was busy working on an old car he was restoring, which
wasn't going too well, he was in no mood to explain the ins and outs of what on heat meant and the 50 WHY questions that would go with it.
He sighed, thought for a moment and said, "Bring Belle over here."

He took a rag, soaked it with petrol, and scrubbed the dog's backside with it to disguise the scent and said "OK, you can go now, but keep Belle on the leash and only go once down the street and back again."

The little girl left and returned a few minutes later with just the
leash, and no dog.

Surprised, Dad asked, "Where's Belle?"

(YOU WILL LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!)

The little girl said, "She ran out of petrol about halfway down the
block, so another dog is pushing her home."

Am here.

Am dancing on own. Have just had all the absinthe, so hopefully should be hallucinating some other people soon.

I must have frightened everyone off and we didn't even get as far as the skinny dipping!

Have a good weekend one and all!

Hope the school run was a success, bet you stopped at the ice cream van on the way home (something my boys love to do!)!

'See' you all next week.

Well I had a nice time. Apparently.

And it's Monday again, and I can't get on next door. They keep saying they've sent me an email but I haven't got it. Hey ho.

It's my last full week here and I can't TELL you what a relief it is. Already having problems with little hitler...counting to a lot more than ten...

So, Moose, have you gorn back to Germany yet?

And I've got blimmin work to do. Would like to know what that's all about...

I left my yogurt on the side at home. It will explode and cover the kitchen in stick. This is the general direction today seems to be taking anyway.

I suppose some bad has to happen...
Hope you are all well

Work - Bah! It's your last (full) week, what are they going to do? Sack you????

Have called international yoghurt rescue and they are on their way to the Sett to sort out your yoghurt problem....

Is it wrong to gaffer tape your child to the cot so he stays still and goes to sleep rather than keep rolling over, screaming then waiting for you to rescue him??

Anonymous said...

Honey, it is never wrong to gaffa tape your child to anything. Particularly if it gives comedy value as well.
I was often gaffa taped to things when young, and I don't think I have necessarily suffered any ill effects.

Jo said...

Right - an insider tip off from me...buy buy buy shares in gaffer tape!

lyndyloo said...

Exploding yoghurts and gaffer tape... what a lot I've missed! I'd like to tell you that Booboo had her first swim in the canal on Sunday morning after her brother Mustard went flying in after a stick she could dither about on the bank no more, she took atentative step onto a little shelf before going the whole hog and taking her first doggie paddle sploshes and going after big bro and his stick. Needless to say she was victorious and emerged very proud of herself with the stick and then shook herself all over me... Bless!!!

mmgghmmhhhhssshhhpphhhttttmmmm ... aaargh! Thank heavens for that. Finally got the gaffer tape off and have just depilated my upper lip in the process. Never liked that moustache anyway.

Well hello folks! Sorry about the long absence, but I've been rather tied up with stuff (mostly not gaffer tape) and not had time to comment. I have been lurking as and when I can and it's nice to see Ms Love back to her old form and other folks dropping by.

Shame to have missed the absinthe on Friday - hope the Lundy puffins didn't get hold of any or there'd have been carnage in the Bristol Channel!

Morning all :)

Aw sad to have missed the skinnydipping on Friday, I was working - at least, as much as I could while my eyes were slowly shutting by themselves! Sounds like them what were there enjoyed themselves :)

Helped my brother move on Thursday, and decided at 8pm to go to a well known Swedish furniture store since we had the van and they needed some furniture anyway.... suffice to say, after meatballs and shopping, we ended up getting home at 1am.

Which meant Friday morning was exceedingly dozy. Had to take the van back, and then get to the hopsical for my scan - and, shattered as we were, eyelids drooping, that was a Very Exciting Moment Indeed :) Pictures on my blog!

Is it Tuesday already? I have just had my hair cut, so when hubby gets in at lunchtime I will get him to take a picture (have tried self portrait mode on the camerata but have not managed to take anything that looks actually like what it looks like) and will attempt to change my blogger profile pic.

Hurrah! And the world is soggy today...

xxxjeni

PS amanda, I laughed and laughed at that joke and then laughed some more when I attempted to read it out to hubby and then we both laughed until we cried!!

PPS gaffer tape sounds an excellent idea, I shall have to make sure I have plenty in stock...

PPPS well done to booboo getting the brownie badge ;)

Fortunately the yogurt had only reached defcon3, and the lid was still just about straining to stay on, so we averted any live bacterial emergency...possibly only by seconds, but it's been consigned to the bin cupboard now, so it's the rats problem quite frankly.

Am still larfin at analog with the balded lip, and Booboo's badge. It was the '1 width' that did it for me.

ps Jen, you'd have thought Ik3a would be able to manage a store a bit nearer than blimmim Croydon by this time, wouldn't you. Perhaps they can't find a big enuff chimbley.

pps were they puffins?

dancerjen said...

Hazel - it was only that chimney that let us know where the blummin' place was!! I tell you that's the worst drive to an Ik3a that I've ever done... and now I know why everyone says to AVOID AVOID AVOID the A23...

Heeee I'm actually tempted to leave a yogurt in the sun now just to watch it explode :D

how childish xxxx

Anonymous said...

I did not see any explosions neither did I see much sun. I take it your hexperiment didn't happen? Perhaps we should organdies a country-wide exploding yogurtathon on Thursday 15th May to celebrate my LAST DAY here!

Wot say you all?

Moose? Would that be ok? Hopefully the snu will be shinning suffishently that day too...

jollygit said...

Howdy doody folks .... sorry I've not been around much but yesterday my exhaust fell off the car on the way to work, and it took me the whole day to a) get to an exhaust centre, b) get the parts ordered and c) move enough money around (not easy when there isn't any - I should be a magician really!) to pay for the darn thing. The grand total was £200 plus I've got to use up a day's holiday 'cos I won't get paid otherwise, being only a temp an' all. Pants!

And today's my birthday but I've not had much time to celebrate as I've been catching up on the work what I missed yesterdee. Pah!

Anyhoo, I'm sorry I missed the Lundy bash.

Amanda - loved the joke

Jo - if gaffer tape is strong enough for George, then you go for it!!!! A friend of mine resorted to tying the kids to the dining chairs when they wouldn't stay in their highchairs - very effective, let me tell you!!!!

Righto - gotta run as 'im indoors is cooking me a meal tonight .... he's not a bad chef, but I made a casserole yesterday so if all else fails .......

Have we broke next door already? It's been stuck on 24 comments for 20 minutes now.... can't get anything to post....

Happy Birfday jollygit ;) enjoy the food, casserole is always a good fallback option! I have all the bits necessary to make one but can I be bothered? Sigh.... Maybe I'll get hubby to make it tonight, and we can have it tomorrow. That might be nice.

Pleeeeeeease.... here comes the sun.... we need sunshine......

Well honored to be mentioned by name, and so deeply sorry not to attend or provide food....i don't seem to think anyone went hungry though. Funnily enough, and slightly spookily...but actually in real life I was on a girls weekend to celebrate one of my friends 40th birthday..we were in Arran ( spooky 'cos also an Island). It was brill - we saw Bjorn Again on Sat night..drank loads, sang loads, went on big walks, and had a super day in posh hotel spa..and lie ins..bliss. I do hope you all had a good time on Lundy anyway..and Moose...sounds like you're doing fine ... guten nacht!

And a very good morning to you all!

Have had friend phone me to tell me her & hubby are coming over to spend August bank holiday with me & Mum in Arinsal (also festa major) so now v.v.excited!

It's a long way off but I'm allowed to be xcited as don't get to see them that often and it's a great weekend out there.

As for this bank holiday I'll be spending most of Sunday biting nails, chewing inside of lips and praying that my beloved LCFC don't get relegated (I know it's not important to all of you).

Darling L and B...of course we care if your beloved LCFC get whatever it is you said. Even though, and I think you know, I have little or no idea of what you speak. I am assuming it is football-based though. Nobody likes to see their team go down. But that's not for here!

Anyhoo, despite earlier forecasts, it is now gonna be my last day here tomorrow, and I don't know when I will be back on line...so I think all those who couldn't/didn't attend the dip-in last Friday, had try to be sur la plage somewhere warm (in hut if wet) tomorrow, from at least 10am, with as much food, drink and swimwear as they desire. And everyone else who can too please!!! If that's ok Moose? Sorry should have arsted first...

Afternoon all,

Oh my, oh my Ms Love has only just had her pooter fixed and she will be without again so soon! What is to be done? Hazel hurry back I am sure I speak for al of us when we say we will miss you. Good luck in the new job. xx

I would just like to say (not that it is planned) but just because Ms L and I may not post for a couple of days at the same time it does not necessarily add up that we are together so to speak. So DD (for example) two and two will not always add up to err 5. ;-)

I have been so busy at work and am really struggling to find time to post recently. I hope to find more time in the day but apparently 24 hours is the limit even though the evening are lighter at the moment, how does that work?

Keith the NotSoBigUn
Xx

P.S I thought I have not posted something to amuse (or not) you recently. Read this and though I would share it with you….

Guaranteed to make you smile..... Especially since it's a true story.

On July 20, 1969, as commander of the Apollo 11 lunar module, Neil
Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the moon. His first words after stepping on the moon, 'that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,' were televised to earth and heard by millions. But just before he re-entered the Lander, he made the enigmatic remark.......'good luck, Mr. Gorsky.'

Many people at NASA though it was a casual remark concerning some rival soviet cosmonaut. However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American space programs.

Over the years many people questioned Srmstrong as to what the 'good luck, Mr. Gorsky' statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled.

On July 5, 1995, in Tampa bay, Florida, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26-year-old question to Armstrong. This time he finally responded.
Mr. Gorsky had died, so Neil Armstrong felt he could answer the question. In 1938 when he was a kid in a small Midwest town, he was playing baseball with a friend in the backyard. His friend hit the ball, which landed in his neighbour’s yard by the bedroom windows.
His neighbours were Mr. and Mrs. Gorsky. As he leaned down to pick up the ball, young Armstrong heard Mrs. Gorsky shouting at Mr. Gorsky. 'Sex! You want sex?! You’ll get sex when the kid next door walks on the moon!'

True story

Oooh Hazel what a treat - I work Fridays from 11am though :( but I shall be there at the beginning and shall bring jaffa cake cake bars and blueberry icewine tea :) I shall be wearing (or attempting to wear) the swimsuit my darling hubby bought me before we knew I had a bun in the proverbial (it was a tight fit when he bought it so heaven knows if I shall fit in it at the moment).

Hurrah - and if it's raining then swimwear is obviously the ideal choice!

Hi to everyone, hope you are all full of good cheer in time for a lovely bank holiday weekend! ..... and the rain it will probably bring! We seem to have escaped the worst of it so far in the NW but this weekend the weather will probably get it's own back!

Hiya Amanda! Yay, Jeni! Some friends!! YAY!!!

Jeni, been meaning to say, and having got a brain comme une passoir, I KEEP FORGETTING.

Many, many congratulations to you and Mr Jeni on the Jumping Bean. This will be the second blog babe. AAAAAAAAAAAAH...

There, that's done. Now I shall forget that I've done it, and will probably congratulate you again. By the way, not having any ankle-biters myself you understand, I have it on good authority that your brain will turn to porridge, and remain so until the Bean is about 11. But you never know, it may not happen...

Popping off next door for a cheeky bit now. Once they've run out of carrot cake I shall be back for Jaffacake Bars and Icewine...am intrigued...

Good Morning, sorry to be late!

Hazel, what an exciting day for you - how lovely for you to be finishing up today!

And yes, I have been to parties like this too. I remember attending a colleague's party - I arrived 2 HOURS before the rest of them came back from the pub - sweet!

Can I join you in a large JD please? There was a bit of a celebration ChezS last night after Rangers secured their place in the UEFA Cup Final! I am just so glad there was no champagne in the house or else that would have been tanked too! So, I may need a hair of the dog ..... and don't worry about all that food, I'll take care of it!

I am sooooo in the holiday mood, but a little annoyed that I have organised absolutely nothing for the weekend. I'll have to get my thinking cap on, and arrange something for tomorrow.

However, if I'M in the holiday mood, it must be nothing compared to Ms Love is feeling! Have a great holiday Hazel.

Be back soon for a top-up.

Why thangeyew ChrissieS! I'm sure you will find something suitable to do over the weekend. Planning is all in the spontaneity. Congratulations to Rangers wahey etc. 'Tis a bottomless pit of alcohol and food this. A bit like M. Poppins carpet bag but without the fluff.

Eat up all. And we aren't playing games later. Well, if anyone wants to they can...I'm mainly talking about me. Don't do games. Not when there's lying about doing b all to be had.

This sun is DIVIIIIIIIIIIIINE darlinks. Gonna need to slick up in a bit. Don't wanna be sitting on the plane peeling already and I haven't even got there yet.
