Don't scratch it...

So if you've been married for 14 years, does that mean you have 2 itches?

I've often thought that the test of a good marriage is not whether you have an itch but rather whether you decide to scratch it or not.

Mrs M enjoyed her flowers, delivered to her in bed at 7.30am by the mooselets.
I have some pink bubbly stuff ready for this evening...

No elephants died in the celebration of this anniversary!

Congratulations Moose, and Mrs Moose!

Moose, I'm hoping you mean rose champagne? Otherwise I fear a massage from the pedantry may be readying itself...

Have a lovely evening

Hands up for a massage from the pedantry! Just me then, Wahey!

Good to see you back on good form Hazel! Things I have done for 14 years consecutively, other than the already claimed living, breathing, drinking, eating, etc. as you know, I have a huge right bicep from

Everyone for the NC1. Hands up!

Anyhoo, we left the Sett at a ridiculously early time this morning, but the sun is out, so am feeling lots more breezy than yesterday, which, deer friends, was not one of my better days.

I hope you and Mrs Moose had a lovely evening last night...any ribbons involved at all? That's if Anna wasn't using them...as it was a Monday after all...

!!!YAY I'M ON HOLIDAY TOMORROW AND I CAN'T BLIMMIN WAIT YAY!!!

I shall be having an open house for most of the day today.

But we did have the rose champagne...it sent Mrs M into a light coma very early in the evening.

Oh well, I still had House to watch so not all was lost.

Morning all

Happy anniversary Mr & Mrs Moose....I'm ridiculously excited as I just bought my first load of cloth nappies - moose, back me up here about how exciting it all is!!

I can't wait for them to arrive. You'll be pleased to know that I've gone for an assortment of colours as no baby of mine will be stuck with boring white!!!

Hazel - i hope you enjoy your hols....I'm thinking that the baby won't arrive before you leave so I'll probably have to find another person to hold the net whilst wearing their cleanest and best galoshes!! (and I'm with you on the 14 year thing about being alive - I didn't even manage smoking at 12 1/2 years!!)

Wecome back our wandering friends - glad to see you again, hope all is well.

Am loving autumn at the moment - bright skies, warm sun and chilly breeze...for me it don't get no better than that...

Have a good one

I do have my suitcase packed though.

Good morning Troops!

Moose - belated happy anniversary to you and Mrs Moose!

Lyndyloo - hope your mum is feeling better. Well done on the weight loss, you are doing brilliantly!

EG - what a lovely surprise to see you back on the blog! Hope you are o.k.

DD - welcome back - glad to hear you enjoyed your wee break. It's a tough life, but someone has to do it!

Jollygit - did you see Nigella last night? Strawberries & cream & meringue to die for!

Hazel - packing all done? You must be getting soooo excited!

As for me, everything is o.k. We had a nice long weekend and I am quite ashamed to say that I wasted the whole day yesterday watching The Office. Series, 2, the Christmas Specials AND all the extras! (I watched Series 1 on Sat!). Mr S was completely demented, but I'm sorry I just had to indulge myself - and I had completely forgotten how brilliant it is!

Hope everyone is ok today.

Gotta go - the stoodence are congregating outside me office and they're making a right din.

Moose - happy anniversary for yesterday.

Have completely forgotten about the holiday suitcase.

That's a busy evening tonight then.

Afternoon all.
I have returned from a lovely trip to the Italian Riviera and am currently ploughing through 2 weeks worth of cr*p that no-one wanted to do in my absence and left on my desk. You'd think they had shares in the sticky note manufacturing company ...

Haven't had time to read all the back entries here (ooo-er, better not land in NC1 on the first day back), but will try and catch up later.

Nice to see you all again. TTFN

Afternoon All!

Jo - how exciting, I just love buying baby clothes. Like Jollygit it's for my nephews, or friends babies. I just love it though, I get so exciting!

The partner of one of my nephews has a little boy from a previous relationship, who I haven't met yet, but he is now part of the family and it's his birthday today. I sent off his birthday box last week and I probably got more fun buying and wrapping the goodies, but I just love it. Goes back to what Moose was saying about giving, especially when it to kids :o)

Lyndyloo - hope your Mum is feeling better xx

Hazel - How exciting, holidays tomorrow - I hope you have an absolutely fantastic time! Have a few G&T's for me :o))

Have a good day everyone.

Talking of itches…

The Affair

A married man was having an affair with his secretary. One day
they went to her place and made love all afternoon. Exhausted, they fell
asleep and woke up at 8 PM. The man hurriedly dressed and told his lover to take
his shoes outside and rub them in the grass and dirt. He put on his shoes
and drove home.

"Where have you been?" his wife demanded.

"I can't lie to you," he replied,

"I'm having an affair with my secretary. We had sex all afternoon."

She looked down at his shoes and said:

"You lying bastard! You've been playing golf!"

Well done moose (and Mrs M of course). 14 years is no mean achievement these days! ;-)

I have not been up to blogging recently due to me having a son! Last weekend he rolled his car and we have been beside ourselves with worry. It looks like he will be ok now (More than can be said for his car). Do you know I do not know why I ever had children sometimes? If I had knew then what I know now and all that!

Best wishes to you all. I will be back when I can.

Jo - how cute can things get? Coloured cloth nappies! Once again, my very deep respect to you (and Moose) for shunning the work of the devil, also known as disposable nappies! I like to think that if such a thing as coloured cloth nappies existed when Ms S was born, I would have gone down that route. Methinks my nose has just grown a couple of inches!

Hiya,

Just checking in. Now, I went to bed last night in a fairly normal state. Woke up this morning and my right heel is agony! I haven't done anything since last night at 10.30 that I can think of. I'm wondering whether Mr S did a Kathy Bates on me and whacked my feet with a baseball bat while I was sleeping! It certainly feels like it and I am hobbling about the office - quite pathetic!

Hope everyone else is o.k.

Morning and apologies for my unexpected absence - caused by a wasp sting, an allergic reaction, ensuing infection and now a really sore, bruised, stiff, still swollen hand!!!!!

Belated congratulations to Moose and Mrs M - 14 years not to be sniffed at - sounds like the evening was successful.

Hazel - I know you've gone now but hope you have a fab time anyway and that the sun shines on you and yours.

Jo - the nappies sound fab!

Hi to everyone - not up to typing too much today so have a good one.

Hope you don't mind me coming back again - it may just be me on here today, given that Amanda now has a note from her mum. Just briefly, I called the doctor's surgery this morning to finally get the result of the blood test for Ms S. It has come back completely normal and no sign of Coeliac! What a relief, to say the least. In the last few weeks I've learned such a lot about it, but anyone I've spoken to have all said the same thing, it's completely o.k. to live with - but they would rather not be Coeliac!

Thanks for listening!

Mary - thanks for letting me know what time to listen to hear Lyndyloo. I will check it out at lunchtime.

Heelgate: Day 2. Checked with Mr S. He assures me he has not hit me with a baseball bat for .... well, weeks and weeks.

So, it would seem that my feet do not like the shoes I wear from time to time - the most expensive shoes I have ever bought - moment of madness. Changed into different shoes today and wonder of wonders, no pain! So, all I can say is Russell & Bromley - you have lost a customer!

I knew you guys would need an update.

C xx

Anonymous said...

Chrissie - great news about Ms S, and also about your heels. I'm pleased it wasn't Mr S and a baseball bat - but what a bummer having useless expensive shoes. Personally I go for quantity in shoes rather than quality, not because I have more than the usual allocation of feet (just in case HL or the Pedantry are reading this from afar) but because I like to wear different footwear each day and it amuses my colleagues to see what I'm going to turn up in each day!

Must try Listen Again later to hear Lyndyloo (glad to hear your mum is on the mend by the way). It's heartening to know that people out there are real and not just virtual beings!

Must go, but back later.

lyndyloo said...

Aha... just a very quick snippet while no-one is looking as I almost start writing month end cheques....

Shoes- I have all sorts of varieties... today I am sporting a pair of ridiculously high (for someone who's 5'9 as it is) pink suede slightly platform stilettoes from office (other...many other shoe shops are available) and I have to admit to taking them off and putting on boat shoes to drive in for fear of marking the back of the shoes. When I'm walking in them, they're actually quite comfy but only for about 40 minutes at a time.

Persevere with the shoes! That's what I say! Then put on your comfy slippers/flip flops when you get home.

Lyndyloo - I did Listen Again and it was great to hear your text read out. It's all good fun!

Jollygit - you are right - students and, indeed kids in general, seem so confident now. I can't remember it being like that "in my day". And as for trendy, although Ms S wears a school uniform (her school is very strict) it is bang up to date in terms of fashion. She is so lucky: I remember asking my mum if I could p-l-e-a-s-e have a straight school skirt, no pleats. What did I get? A skirt with about 100 pleats! I was gutted but would never have crossed my mum, not in a million years! Hope you enjoy your weekend just taking it easy!

Mary - thanks for the reply. I just wondered - but I suppose it is down to what you let your dog away with. Now you are really in the mood to see Patch! Have lovely weekend.

Chrissie - Pleated skirts and mokasin (sp?) shoes......I cringe at the thought!

The uniform of one of the schools local to me is a royal blue blazer and blue mix tartan kilt. Looks very smart and trendy! The boys don't look too cool it in though......hahaha they look very smart in their black trousers.

Have arranged with my Sister to have Patch Sunday morning - will arrive back in time for a nice roast dinner.....good planning on my part I think!

The school uniform for us girls used to be a navy blue or red or gold or bottle green jumper over a white shirt, with either a red or navy blue kilt. Mum used to get my uniform from the T supermarket in Brighton ... this was back in 1970 and I think it was one of the first to sell clothes. Nylon shirts, polyester jumpers .... I'm surprised I didn't spontaneously combust with all that static!!!!
