Weekend addendum

In a tiny moment of revelation, it became clear to me that giving more than taking is, paradoxically, the real route to true happiness...

Oh yes, fully agree. Best Boy had his birthday yesterday, which was full of surprises for him. He loved it (see post on previous blog).

Also, it is Special Friend's birthday the same day as my sons. I bought her some chocs and she phoned me tonight to say they were completely unexpected and very, very lovely. I had a nice warm glow! I like doing nice things for people - it really does make me happy.

Yes, I know I said I was away until Tuesday, but I had to have a wee sneaky look today and therefore have to leave a comment!

Moose, undoubtedly it is better to give than take. And not just because it makes us feel good about ourselves! If there was more giving, the world would be a much better place, wouldn't it? The thing with me though is that in the past I have given too much (of myself, not material stuff) and that has resulted in me being used - not nice. But in the main, I have to agree with what you're saying.

Sammie - so glad your son had such a lovely birthday. Obviously you are No.1 in the mum stakes at the moment!

I'm going now!

Dear Moose, dear Friends

I come in not having followed the thread of discussion here - and on the basis of having consumed a bottle of Rose vino! So apologies if ofF track. Anyway, I do agree that to give is the route to happiness. Sometimes though it is nice to receive just a little bit back. We can do things selflessly and that's great, but do we need someone to recognise that we have done something selflessly? Is it selflessly if we are looking for someone to recognise it as so?

Anyway, Moose - glad to see the blog is still up and running. Moose's blog friends - hello again, hello. Sorry, I've not been around. Really been busy - trying to be selfless and all that!

Chrissie, Mary, Susan and anyone else from the SOAMC - thinking of you. Hope we can meet soon.

Chrissie - special thanks for your recent e-mail. So appreciate you thinking of me.

Love to all. I haven't been here on the blog, but I have been thinking of you.

Love to all.

Evening all.

Have already consumed some vino, so please excuse me if I don't make sense/have typos, etc.

Another mad week beckons, however, the washing machine saga continues - apparently the man is coming tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully, I'll be able to blog then (and get some washing done).

Btw - update to previous entry - it was Special Friend's mums birthday! (Got lost with all the inverted commas...)

Had a lovely, quiet weekend (except for last night), but have lots of stuff to do tonight. GO England!!! Shame about the Scottish loss.

Morning all,

Dissing is back, no longer missing inaction.

Just arrived home yesterday from a week in Ras al Khaimah (just north of Dubai and Sharjah) in the UAE.

Fab weather, a week of doing nuttin on the beach, thoroughly relaxed and ready to rock 'n roll.

Best wishes to all the loyal moose bloggers.

DD out

PS Where's the Special one!

EG & DD welcome back!!! So nice to see you both. Nice tan btw DD!

A little scary news to start with, my mum got taken into hospital on Friday as her infection had got worse. She was put on intravenous antibiotics and kept in until yesterday. This meant me running back and fore with Dad/friends/grapes etc then yesterday had suprise visit from big Bro and Sis in law so made big Sunday lunch for us all to celebrate Mum's homecoming. All this did nothing for 6 point plan!

However I'm still please to report 2lb loss on week1 and I'll be off to salsa tonight!!

Anyone for a merengui?

It looks like another quiet week on here again... what's going on?

I agree that giving can be just as rewarding as receiving though really if you think about it the good feeling we get from giving to someone is our reward for giving.
