Let's make up the rules as we go along...

Just a quick one to say hi and all the best whatever you are doing and however you celebrate or don't celebrate over the weekend.

Long journey down (whizzed past Yeovil and Croyde, avoided Reading and Bath altogether today!)
Now tired and ready for my bed.
I tried hard to persuade the family to "eat something proper" when we stopped but I was outvoted so it was Burger King (other fast food outlets are not available at Exeter services).
I shall therefore refuse to calculate my calorific balance for today on the grounds that I don't want to depress myself and tomorrow is another day. Make it rule 11 if you have to...

No lie in tomorrow as we'll be up early for church. I like Good Friday with one service only, so once you're back the rest of the day stretches in front of you, hopefully tomorrow for some walking on beaches or cliffs or both. Three ready and able mooselet-sitters in the house is also a very nice change.

Morning all!

Sorry I missed out on commenting on yesterdays blog (not really!!!), so I'll just add a few thoughts now.

I'm not religious, although I am spiritual. I went to Sunday School, took Scripture exams (Girl's Brigade) and all that sort of thing, but I stopped going to Church in my late teens. My mother is Catholic and my father, brought up Methodist, is an Atheist. I cannot believe, although I have full respect for those that do. My early Christian years taught me about respect, charity, humility, faith and hope. These days, I have faith in the fact that no matter how awful today has been, the sun will still rise tomorrow, giving a fresh opportunity to right the wrongs of the previous day, or simply the strength to continue. I love Easter time, not so much because of the religious significance, but because it is a time of new life, of renewal and hope.

A couple of years ago, my niece was Christened on Easter Sunday. (My sister continues to go to church. She gives up things for Lent and generally observes religious festivals, as religious festivals.) I had an incredible battle with my conscience when she asked me to be Godmother. I agreed, after I 'translated' what being a Godmother meant in Christianity into something more meaningful for me. I promised to guide my Niece on a path that included all the teachings I remembered from my early years.

With regards to yesterday, well, I have had the BEST 24 hours! K was just as nervous as me at the airport, but seeing him again made all those nervous thoughts fall away, to be replaced with happiness and excitement. I shan't bore you with the details, but we had a lovely dinner (Game pie for me - yummy!) and a fabulous early evening walk. I won't see him now until next Friday and then he's back off to Georgia on Saturday. Time is precious.

Whatever you're doing this weekend, I hope it's wonderful for you all.

S xx.

P.S. Absolutely right Moose, don't let yesterday's calorie count put you off the overall goal. Start afresh today. Besides, if you take an average count of calories consumed over the last week, I bet you're not far off your target.

P.P.S. I closed my eyes, drew back the curtain...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawh Sammie...told ya! Glad it went well my darlin!

Time is such a precious thing, nearly as precious as love...so MOOSE - PUT THE COMPUTER DOWN. STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER. DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT £200. Make the most of this time you have with the family (and the ready, willing and able Mooselet-sitters) and fill your weekend with love....

Now I'm going to make some breakfast. Eggs I think.

...and just for annalog...

Hi all. Just popped in briefly whilst Mr L is mowing the lawn (still haven't told him about the blog ...).

Moose - you don't usually like Fridays, so I hope this one is an exception. Enjoy the moose-sitters while you can!!

How many eggs have we all eaten then, eh?

Evening all. Had a good day today. CHurch followed by a quick lunch, a 2 hour snooze (thank you mooselet-sitters!), tea and....can you cope with this...cake...at a nice garden, then a good long run in the sunshine.
Just waiting for dinner to be cooked for me - such an unusual pleasure for me!

I'm sure I will still be on here on and off over the whole weekend. Mrs Moose has a laptop too remember...

Sammie - so glad it went well with K.

Jollygit - this Friday is different in a number of ways. The normal situation could never arise so it wasn't even in my head. A nice rest from it this week (next week too).

Moose - good to hear you have had a nice Good Friday. A two-hour snooze - bet that felt like a real treat. I dozed off myself for a little while this afternoon. Spent some time in the garden today - I love this time of year in the garden - I feel it can really help me relax. Thinking now about getting my veg planted into containers. Enjoy the rest of you break.

Oh My I had such a fab day yesterday. Confused a lady in the morning as she was out walking her dog...she stopped us to say that she had just seen a little spotty dog in the same red outfit as Sophie's...I had to tell her that it was Amy, Sophies sister out for her morning walk with the mother in law...SHe seemed more relaxed at that!

Then we went to Birmingham to see some friends and introduce a little girl to dogs (her mother is terrified of them!)which went well, then had BBQ (first one of the year and itwas beautiful)and another walk at Tardebigge south ofBirmingham along the canal which was good fun - then home to bed. A most fulfilling day indeed.

Moose, you should never whizz past Croyde, always stop for a pint of apple nectar!

Sammie - Glad to hear you succesfully reunited with K - how exciting.

As for today - general lazing about for me and might just plan the veg patch :o)

Happy Easter :o) Jo

PS for those interested I have put on 1 sheet of loo roll so far in pregnancy - current loo roll girth around belly button bit of belly = 8.5

Jo - glad to read the baby bump is progressing nicely! Never thought of using loo roll to measure mine!!!

Gaby - are you going to see chappy again?

I met K on a dating website and last night when he was at the airport, a young lady approached him and said she had seen him there! Blimey!!!

Another beautiful day in prospect today. Days like these make me feel so energised, so alive. I'm amazed I'm still in PJ's!!! All of us here in Sammie Towers have colds and coughs, so although we're going for a walk this afternoon, it won't be anything too strenuous!

I'll dip in again soon.
