Geo-political machinations

Some words are used too little.

I heard a chap say 'geo-political' today on the business news. I haven't heard that one for a long time. It's just such a good word.

It's less beardy teacher with patches on his elbows than 'geographical'.
It's less overweight man in an ill-fitting suit than 'political'.

Maybe the reason I like it is that I'm an overweight geography graduate in an ill-fitting suit.

But enough of my Speedo's...machinations is another one that I miss.

It is quiet on here today.

Not sure which words I feel should be used more but my littlest man (aged 5) told his daddy off this morning for 'inferuping' him while he was trying to talk to me! Thought that was the cutest thing to start the day off! Still smiling now as I hear that said in my mind!

Moose - 'speedo's' - Noooooooooo!!!

Jollygit - how lovely that your Aunite's church organised a thanksgiving service for your uncle - you are right there are some lovely and thoughtful people in the world. Glad your fella has work til January - hope it will lead to more after the NZ trip. La Love's party - brilliant idea - lets get planning!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and if you are attending fireworks or parties stay safe and have fun!

In case I don't get back today - 'til Monday dear cyber-friends!

Crumbs it is quiet - I only popped in to apologise for my absence over the last couple of days (work, work, work ...).

Machinations should be used more. But not Speedos. Not on anyone who is even slightly less than perfect. Sorry Moose.

I used to love to be able to say "meningococcal meningitis". It just rolled off the tongue. Not a nice to thing to have and shouldn't be encouraged, but verbally I enjoyed it!

I'm orf now to do some more of the work thing. Have a great weekend folks.

Moose,

I once worked with a guy and his favourite trick was to have me open the dictionary and pick a word - ANY word and he would tell me the definition. I mean, words like Quadragesimal, livraison and sapodillla - he would know what they meant! I never caught out him once and I must have worked with him for about 5 years! His favourite word was "doofer-doffer". I don't think this was his creation, but it summed up everything. "I'm off to see doofer-doffer". "Where is that doofer-doffer?" "Don't be such a doofer-doffer!"

Try it, it works!!

Have a good weekend everyone - wherever you are!

Caroline:

Thinking of you, Mr C and his mum. This journey we are all on, called life, can be a hell of a trial. Look after yourselves, and we're here whenever you need us.

I still have the kilt from CE's wedding if we want to reprise the "special present"!

Hey Chaps

Unfortunately Mr C was too late, his lovely mum died in the early hours this morning.
Thanks Chrissie for the thoughts yesterday.
I may be some time...
